Shoes for Orphan Souls began as Shoes for Russian Souls in 1995 by KCBI radio in Dallas, Texas. Buckner International assumed leadership of the program in 1999 and changed the name to reflect our global reach. Since then, the program has touched the lives of millions of children and provided them with the gift of health, education and hope.
Buckner provides the following programs worldwide:
 Family programs: foster care, adoption, residential care and transition programs
 Empowerment programs: self-sufficiency programs, education and job readiness training
 Community programs: after-school programs, counseling and apartment ministries,
transformation centers
 Aid and support: global humanitarian aid, medical clinics, short-term missions support and Shoes for Orphan SoulsŪ
